The first trailer has arrived for Christopher Landon’s Blumhouse horror Happy Death Day (previously titled Half To Death), and it looks like a hell of a lot of fun.
The movie is obviously going for a slasher take on Groundhog Day, and also looks a lot like the glorious Supernatural episode ‘Mystery Spot’ (“Do these tacos taste funny to you?”), and we’re hoping it can be as entertaining as this trailer.
Landon (Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones, Scouts Guide To The Zombie Apocalypse) from the script he wrote with Scott Lobdell, and the film stars Jessica Rothe (La La Land, Parallels), Israel Broussard (The Bling Ring) and Ruby Modine (Shameless).
There’s also a poster, from IMPAwards.
“Blumhouse (Split, Get Out, Whiplash) produces an original and inventive rewinding thriller in HAPPY DEATH DAY, in which a college student (Jessica Rothe, La La Land) relives the day of her murder with both its unexceptional details and terrifying end until she discovers her killer’s identity.”
Happy Death Day is released on 13 October in the US and 20 October in the UK. Keep up with the latest genre news with the new issue of SciFiNow.
