IT Part 2 already has a release date, hooray!

For a film that didn’t know if it would be getting a sequel a month ago, IT is certainly doing well for itself. Grossing $123,403,419 during its domestic opening weekend and spawning probably even more memes in the process, it’s all many people are talking about.

Happily, it was confirmed earlier this month that the IT that everyone’s been raving about and seeing multiple times is officially IT Part One. And IT Part Two, which will revolve around the story’s youngsters after they’ve grown up into adults, has already been given a release date of 6 September 2019.

IT was directed by Andy Muschietti, who will be returning to helm the second chapter of the Stephen King adaptation. Members of the Loser’s Club, which consisted of Jaeden Lieberher as Bill, Wyatt Oleff as Stan, Jeremy Ray Taylor as Ben, Sophia Lillis as Bev, Finn Wolfhard as Richie, Jack Dylan Grazer as Eddie and Chosen Jacobs as Mike, are unlikely to be coming back, but their adult counterparts are yet to be cast.

You can read the synopsis for IT here:

When children begin to disappear in the town of Derry, Maine, a group of young kids are faced with their biggest fears when they square off against an evil clown named Pennywise, whose history of murder and violence dates back for centuries.

IT Part 2 will be in cinemas from 6 September 2019. Get all the latest horror news with every issue of SciFiNow.
