Filming is currently underway on the TV series based on Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett’s classic Good Omens, and it just can’t stop casting excellent people.
It was announced today that Anna Maxwell Martin (And Then There Were None, Midwinter Of The Spirit) has joined the series as Beelzebub, the “ultimate demon,” while The Killing‘s Mireille Enos, Knightfall‘s Lourdes Faberes and The Originals‘ Yusuf Gatewood will play the Horsemen Of The Apocalypse. Enos is War, Faberes is Pollution, and Gatewood is Famine.
Gaiman, who has written every episode of the series, said that “We already have a stellar cast, and now Anna Maxwell Martin will be the Beelzebub of our dreams. Well, nightmares.”
Mireille Enos, who you’ll also recognise from her work on movies like Sabotage and World War Z, said “A script this clever, this smart, this current is very rare. How could I turn down playing one of the Horsemen of the Apocalypse??? Especially with the incredible group who’s come together to make it. It’s going to be FUN!”
They join Michael Sheen and David Tennant, who have the starring roles of Arizaphale and Crowley, and Jon Hamm, Adria Arjona, Ariyon Bakare, Michael McKean, Ned Dennehy, Jack Whitehall, Nina Sosanya and Miranda Richardson.
Good Omens will air in 2019 on BBC Two in the UK and on Amazon in other territories. Keep up with the latest genre news with the new issue of SciFiNow.
