Counterpart trailer makes JK Simmons meet himself from another dimension

The first trailer has arrived for Starz’ upcoming series Counterpart, starring JK Simmons, and not only does it give us two performances from the amazing actor, it also looks like it could offer the alternate-dimensional mind-bending we’ve been missing since Fringe.

Looks pretty good, right? Starz is so confident that they’ve made two seasons at once.

“An espionage, sci-fi thriller with a metaphysical twist, Counterpart tells the story of Howard Silk (Simmons), a lowly cog in a bureaucratic UN agency who is turning the last corner of a life filled with regret, when he discovers the agency he works for is guarding a secret: a crossing to a parallel dimension. Through Howard and his “counterpart” on the other side, Prime, the show will navigate themes of identity, idealism, what ifs, and lost love.”

The show is created by Justin Marks (The Jungle Book), and the excellent cast also includes Olivia Williams, Ulrich Thomsen, Harry Lloyd, Nicholas Pinnock, Nazanin Boniadi and Sara Serraiocco.

Counterpart begins on 28 January 2018 in the US. No UK air date has been announced. Keep up with the latest genre news with the new issue of SciFiNow.
