Some potentially troubling news for Starz’s American Gods fans has arisen: showrunners Bryan Fuller and Michael Green have exited the show.
Fuller and Green informed the cast of their decision this week before making the news public. A reason for the departure has not been confirmed, but some news sources believe it may have been over talks about the series’ budget. Apparently, American Gods Season 1’s was a little too enthusiastic and kept growing as production progressed.
The news is a real shame as the show got off to a great start, but we guess we’ll just have to wait and see who steps in to fill their giant, empty shoes as showrunner.
Author Neil Gaiman is rumoured to be joining the show as co-showrunner, but time may not allow it to actually happen seeing as he’s also currently working on his Good Omens series for Amazon.
Pre-production for American Gods Season 2 is well underway, with more than half of the episodes’ scripts already written and ready to go.
