Altered Carbon first teaser trailer downloads you into Joel Kinnaman

After spending what seems like forever in development, Netflix has finally unveiled its snazzy first teaser trailer for upcoming SF series Altered Carbon, based on the novel by Richard K Morgan. It’s also finally got a release date: 2 February 2018. Check out Joel Kinnaman’s awakening below:

“Based on the award-winning novel, Altered Carbon takes place in a future where the human mind can now be digitized and downloaded into a “cortical stack” and placed into new bodies, called sleeves. The series follows Envoy soldier Takeshi Kovacs (Joel Kinnaman), who is brought back to life centuries later to investigate the attempted murder of Laurens Bancroft (James Purefoy), the wealthiest man on Earth. As the investigation progresses, Kovacs comes to learn that his past isn’t nearly as buried as he thought.”

Kinnaman and Purefoy star alongside Dichen Lachman (who was awesome on Dollhouse), Matt Frewer (Watchmen), Tahmoh Penikett (Battlestar Galactica, also Dollhouse), Byron Mann (The Big Short, The Man With The Iron Fists), Adam Busch (Buffy The Vampire Slayer), Hiro Kanagawa (iZombie, The Man In The High Castle) and Kristin Lehman (The Killing).

The show comes from writer Laeta Kalogridis (Shutter Island, Terminator: Genisys, Alita: Battle Angel).

Altered Carbon will be available on Netflix on 2 February 2018.
