Cloverfield sequel God Particle has been delayed yet again

Either something’s gone wrong with the upcoming Cloverfield sequel or producer JJ Abrams is trying to pull a fast one on us again. Either way, Paramount Pictures and Bad Robot have pushed God Particle‘s release date back to 20 April 2018

This isn’t the first time its release has been rescheduled: originally set to hit cinemas on 24 February 2017, the film was moved to 27 October 2017, and then to 2 February 2018.

As it’s Cloverfield, we obviously haven’t seen any trailers yet either, so we have no clue what state the film is currently in.

God Particle is being directed by Julius Onah (A Girl Is In Trouble) with a screenplay by Oren Uziel and Doug Jung. All that is known about the story is that it is set in the near future and revolves around a team of astronauts that make a discovery concerning a new energy source while on a space station.

The film also has a pretty interesting cast attached, including David Oyelowo, Elizabeth Debicki, Chris O’Dowd, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Ziyi Zhang and Daniel Brühl.

God Particle is in cinemas on 20 April 2018. Get all the latest sci-fi news with every issue of SciFiNow.
