Simon Pegg and Nick Frost working on paranormal TV comedy Truth Seekers

Long-time pals and co-stars Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are collaborating on a new TV series.

According to Variety, the writers/actors are currently developing a half-hour comedy horror show called Truth Seekers, which will see a pair of paranormal investigators look into a new spooky incident each episode in a case-of-the-week fashion.

Of the project, Pegg said: “Each episode is going to be an adventure, a potential haunting or something. It’ll start as a very parochial idea, a very small business venture for these people, but it will expand as the series goes on to be something far more global. It’s a language everyone understands, the mystery of the unknown.

Shaun of the Dead was a very parochial story set in North London and somehow it managed to get this global reach because everyone understands the language of zombie movies.”

The series is being produced by Stolen Pictures, which itself is backed by Sony Pictures Television.

“Despite being very British, in terms of their sense of humour and perspective on the world, they have created content that has been lapped up around the world,” said Wayne Garvie, president of international production at Sony Pictures Television, of Frost and Pegg. “Whether as actors, writers, producers, or even directors, they have a constituency around the world they reach out to and a real bedrock of support and love in Britain.”

James Serafinowicz and Nat Saunders (Sick Note) are also involved with Stolen Pictures as creative directors.

Truth Seekers doesn’t yet have an air date. Get all the latest horror news with every issue of SciFiNow.
