Although Warner Bros’ Aquaman reportedly tested well in screenings earlier this year, the film is continuing the DC trend and is currently undergoing reshoots, which means some new cast members are in order.
Fresh Off The Boat star Randall Park has officially joined the film. He’s set to play Dr Stephen Shin.
Director James Wan announced the news on Twitter, posting the following picture:

For those unfamiliar with the character, Dr Shin was a friend of Tom Curry and a young Arthur Curry, and helped Arthur develop his powers to become Aquaman. However, he later turned on the hero when he refused to divulge Atlantis’ location to him.
The fact that Shin plays a large part in Arthur’s upbringing suggests that the reshoots could be focusing on Aquaman’s origins.
Aquaman isn’t the only comic book film Park is involved in this year: he will also appear as SHIELD agent Jimmy Woo in Marvel’s Ant-Man And The Wasp this summer.
Aquaman is in cinemas from 21 December 2018. Get all the latest superhero film news with every issue of SciFiNow.
