The Orville Season 2 gets new stars and a new poster

After not-so-surprise hit The Orville wrapped up its first season earlier this year, we’ve been eagerly anticipating Season 2, which is set to touch down on FOX on 30 December in the US.

Even though we’re almost half a year away from its return, the show brings some news.

Firstly, the cast is getting even bigger for Season 2, with EW reporting that Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester has taken a mystery guest role. She joins Jessica Szohr, also of Gossip Girl fame, who is becoming a series regular and playing a new member of the crew onboard the Orville.

Secondly, it’s got a sick new poster:

The Orville was created and written by Seth MacFarlane, produced by 20th Century Fox Television, executive produced by MacFarlane, David A Goodman, Jason Clark and Liz Heldens, and stars MacFarlane, Adrianne Palicki, Penny Johnson Jerald, Scott Grimes, Peter Macon, Halston Sage, J Lee, and Mark Jackson.

The show is set 400 years in the future on the mid-level exploratory spaceship known as the Orville, and charts the everyday hijinks of the human and alien crew.

The Orville Season 2 will air on 30 December 2018 on FOX in the US. It doesn’t yet have a UK air date. Get all the latest sci-fi news with every issue of SciFiNow.
