Locke And Key series gets a 10-episode series order from Netflix

After an awful lot of production delays, cancellations and general faffing, things are finally looking up for the Locke And Key TV series: Neflix has confirmed that it will be picking the series up with a ten-episode order.

Based on Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez’s comic book series of the same name, Locke And Key has had its fair share of problems. But after not being picked up by its previous home, US streaming service Hulu, back in March, Netflix was quick to swoop in and extend a helping hand.

Following its exit from Hulu, the show has been completely reworked, with Hill, Aron Eli Coleite and executive producer Carlton Cuse (Bates MotelLost) re-writing the pilot episode.

The new version of the show will reportedly not contain any of the cast or footage that appeared while it was under Hulu’s watch. It looks like Neflix is very happy with the rework though, what with it giving it a full series order straight off the bat.

Cuse and Meredith Averill (The Good Wife) are acting as co-showrunners, and Lindsey Springer of Genre Arts, David Alpert and Rick Jacobs of Circle of Confusion, Ted Adams and David Ozer of IDW Entertainment, and Andy and Barbara Muschietti are serving as executive producers.

Locke And Key doesn’t yet have an air date. Get all the latest sci-fi news with every issue of SciFiNow.
