Men In Black spin-off film adds Rebecca Ferguson

Honestly, we’ve almost reached the point where the upcoming Men In Black spin-off film couldn’t be anything short of amazing.

As if its cast wasn’t already stellar, the film has gone and added the brilliant Rebecca Ferguson (The Greatest ShowmanMission: Impossible – Fallout) to its ranks. Not only that, she’ll be a lead character. There’s no word yet on who she’ll be playing exactly, but we don’t really care right now.

This news comes shortly after the announcement that Men In Black 3‘s Emma Thompson will be returning as chief of the MiB, Agent O.

Ferguson and Thompson join stars Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson. They play a pair of London-based MiB agents who find themselves caught up in a worldwide murder mystery.

Also starring is Liam Neeson as the head of the London branch of MiB, as well as Rafe Spall (The Ritual), Kumail Nanjiani (The Big Sleep) and Sartaj Garewal (The Infidel).

The film, which is currently untitled, is set to be a straight-up spin-off of the original three, and will take place in the Men In Black world but with a new cast of characters.

It’s being directed by F Gary Gray (Straight Outta Compton), produced by Walter F Parkes and Laurie MacDonald and executive produced by Steven Spielberg. Matt Holloway and Art Marcum, both of whom worked on Iron Man and Transformers: The Last Knight, are writing the script.

The untitled Men In Black spin-off will be in cinemas on 14 June 2019. Get all the latest sci-fi news with every issue of SciFiNow.
