Alexander Skarsgård is the most recent actor to join the cast of probably the biggest giant monster showdown movie of 2020, Godzilla Vs Kong.
There aren’t tonnes of details about characters currently available, but Variety reports that Skarsgård is set to play “the leader of a military unit”. The actor is best known for playing Eric Northman in True Blood, and has more recently appeared in the likes of Big Little Lies, The Diary Of A Teenage Girl and The Legend Of Tarzan.
He joins a cast made up of Demián Bichir, whose involvement was announced last week, Millie Bobby Brown, Danai Gurira, Kyle Chandler, Julian Dennison, Ziyi Zhang and Brian Tyree Henry.
As the film’s title suggestions, Godzilla Vs Kong will revolve around the meeting of and subsequent fight between Godzilla and King Kong, but not much else is currently known about the plot. Production on the film is set to start in November in Atlanta.
Godzilla Vs Kong will be director Adam Wingard’s next film to hit cinemas. Wingard is best known for helming the likes of The Guest, Blair Witch and You’re Next.
Godzilla Vs Kong is in cinemas from 22 May 2020. Get all the latest sci-fi news with every issue of SciFiNow.
