Netflix’s Daredevil has been cancelled, not getting a Season 4

After three seasons, Netflix has finally cancelled Daredevil, according to Deadline.

It’s starting to look like Netflix and Marvel really don’t have much faith in their Defenders series, what with Iron Fist and Luke Cage both also receiving the axe over the last few months.

Marvel’s Daredevil will not return for a fourth season on Netflix,” the streaming service said in a statement. “We are tremendously proud of the show’s last and final season and although it’s painful for the fans, we feel it best to close this chapter on a high note.

“We’re thankful to our partners at Marvel, showrunner Erik Oleson, the show’s writers, stellar crew and incredible cast including Charlie Cox as Daredevil himself, and we’re grateful to the fans who have supported the show over the years.”

However, it sounds as though Matt Murdock might go on to crop up in other projects, especially with Disney streaming service Disney+ on the way…

“While the series on Netflix has ended, the three existing seasons will remain on the service for years to come, while the Daredevil character will live on in future projects for Marvel,” Netflix said.

With Iron Fist, Luke Cage and Daredevil all now gone, we reckon it’s likely that Jessica Jones could end up being next. But who knows, maybe they’ll all end up on Disney+ at some point.
