Dr Mirage TV series on the way from The CW

There’s a Dr Mirage TV series on the way from The CW

It sounds like someone chugged several cases of Monster in The CW’s latest comic book series-planning meeting, because there’s yet another one on the way.

The most recent show to join the network’s huge family of comic book TV adaptations is a series based on Valiant’s Dr Mirage, according to Deadline. The new show is coming from Reign co-creator Laurie McCarthy, who is partnering up with DMG Entertainment and CBS Television Studios.

Dr Mirage will follow “a female paranormal investigator who can communicate with dead souls except the one she wants to reach – the love of her life.” It is based on The Second Life Of Dr Mirage, an 18-issue comic book series created by writer and artist Bob Layton and illustrator Bernard Chang.

The series originally came to life during The CW’s 2016-17 season, but it had Annabelle and It writer Gary Dauberman attached to pen it. McCarthy has taken over Dauberman’s script duties now that it is being redeveloped.

McCarthy is set to executive produce alongside Dan Mintz (the founder and CEO of DMG Entertainment) and DMG’s Chris Cowles.

Dr Mirage doesn’t yet have an air date. Get all the latest comic book news with every issue of SciFiNow.
