Upcoming Star Wars series The Mandalorian has now well and truly kicked off after the full cast list was revealed on StarWars.com.
Joining the previously announced Pedro Pascal (Narcos), Gina Carano (Deadpool) and Nick Nolte (Affliction) are Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad), Emily Swallow (Supernatural), Carl Weathers (Predator), Omid Abtahi (American Gods) and Werner Herzog (Grizzly Man).
“We’re having a great time working with this incredibly talented group and excited for evryone to see what we’re up to,” said executive producer Jon Favreau in a statement
The new series has been penned by Jon Favreau, and Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels‘ Dave Filoni will be directing the first episode. Taika Waititi, Bryce Dallas Howard, Rick Famuyiwa and Deborah Chow have all signed up to direct subsequent episodes.
Filoni is also executive producing the show alongside Kathleen Kennedy, Favreau and Colin Wilson. Karen Gilchrist will serve as a co-executive producer.
The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order, and will follow the adventures of a lone gunfighter (Pascal) in the outer reaches of the galaxy, away from the authority of the New Republic. The show will air on Disney’s upcoming streaming service Disney+.
