Sony’s film adaptation of Morbius, The Living Vampire has added Matt Smith to its cast
Matt Smith has been added to the cast of Sony’s Morbius, reports Variety.
Smith, most famous for playing the Doctor in Series 5 to 7 of Doctor Who, joins Jared Leto as Morbius and Adria Arjona as Martine Bancroft. It is currently unclear who Smith will be playing.
The character of Morbius was created by writer Roy Thomas and artist Gil Kane in 1971 for The Amazing Spider-Man #101. He was a scientist who tried to cure himself of a blood disease, with unfortunate results, instead becoming afflicted with vampiric traits like fangs and a thirst for blood.
Daniel Epinosa (Safe House) is directing the film from a script written by Lost In Space‘s Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless. Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach are producing alongside Lucas Foster, with Palak Patel overseeing the project for Sony.
