Morbius adds Jared Harris and Tyrese Gibson to the cast

Jared Harris and Tyrese Gibson join the cast of Sony’s Morbius

Sony’s upcoming comic book movie Morbius, revolving around the Marvel character of Morbius the Living Vampire, has been beefing up its cast list this week.

Jared Harris (Sherlock Holmes: Game Of Shadows) and Tyrese Gibson (Fast And Furious) have both been added to the cast. However, both of their roles are currently being kept under wraps. The actors join Jared Leto as Morbius, Adria Arjona as Martine Bancroft, and Matt Smith in an undisclosed role.

The character of Morbius was created by writer Roy Thomas and artist Gil Kane in 1971 for The Amazing Spider-Man #101. He was a scientist who tried to cure himself of a blood disease, with unfortunate results, instead becoming afflicted with vampiric traits like fangs and a thirst for blood.

Daniel Epinosa (Safe House) is directing the film from a script written by Lost In Space‘s Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless. Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach are producing alongside Lucas Foster, with Palak Patel overseeing the project for Sony.

Morbius will be in cinemas from 31 July 2020. Get all the latest sci-fi news with every issue of SciFiNow.
