Marvel’s Black Widow has added The Handmaid’s Tale’s O-T Fagbenle to the cast

Actor O-T Fagbenle has joined the cast of Marvel’s upcoming film Black Widow, according to Deadline.

Fans of Hulu’s hit series The Handmaid’s Tale, based on Margaret Atwood’s novel of the same name, will know Fagbenle for playing Luke Bankole in the series. His other TV credits include the likes of The FiveMaxxxLooking and Material Girl.

He joins a cast made up of Scarlett Johansson, who is reprising her role as the titular Avenger, Rachel Weisz (The Favourite), David Harbour (Hellboy) and Florence Pugh (Fighting With My Family).

The film will be a standalone adventure and will follow Scarlett Johansson as spy-turned-superhero Natasha Romanoff, AKA Black Widow, who grew up being trained by the KGB before joining SHIELD and the Avengers.

Lore‘s Cate Shortland is directing the film, while Jac Schaeffer is writing the script.
