The brilliant Lena Waithe has joined the cast of Westworld Season 3, according to TheWrap. The character Waithe is set to play is currently unknown, but she joins Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad), who is also making his Westworld debut in the show’s upcoming third season.
Waithe is a writer, actor and producer best known for playing Denise in Netflix series Master Of None. She wrote the show’s ‘Thanksgiving‘ episode and won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing in a Comedy Series in 2017 for her efforts. Waithe has also appeared in the likes of Ready Player One, Dear White People and This Is Us, and is the creator of Showtime drama series The Chi.
Westworld was created by Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy and is based on the film written by Michael Crichton. Kilter Films and Bad Robot Production produce the series in association with Warner Bros Television. JJ Abrams, Athena Wickham, Richard J Lewis and Ben Stephenson all serve as executive producers.
The show stars Evan Rachel Wood as Dolores Abernathy, Thandie Newton as Maeve Millay, Jeffrey Wright as Bernard Lowe, Katja Herbers as Emily Grace, Gustaf Skarsgård as Karl Strand, Jonathan Tucker as Major Craddock, Ed Harris as the Man in Black and Anthony Hopkins as Robert Ford.
Production on Season 3 has already started but the season is not expected to air on HBO until 2020.
