It’s always a good day when the brilliant Jemaine Clement is cast in something, so here’s some fun news: the Flight Of The Concords star has officially joined the cast of James Cameron’s upcoming Avatar sequels.
Clement will play a Pandora marine biologist named Dr Garvin, as announced on the films’ Twitter account:

Clement joins a cast currently made up of the likes of Zoe Saldana, Kate Winslet, Oona Chaplin, Sigourney Weaver, Michelle Yeoh, Sam Worthington, Giovanni Ribisi and David Thewlis.
As well as Flight Of The Concords, the actor is also known for his work in Men In Black 3, Eagle Vs Shark, What We Do In The Shadows, Moana, Legion and more.
Avatar 2 is the first of four scheduled Avatar sequels currently slated for release. The film is being directed by James Cameron from a script by Cameron, Josh Friedman and Shane Salerno.
