The cast of Bill & Ted sequel Bill & Ted Face The Music is shaping up nicely. Following the recent news that Samara Weaving and Brigette Lundy-Paine had joined the film as Bill and Ted’s children, Bill and Ted now have wives too.
Jayma Mays will play Princess Joanna, the wife of Bill (Alex Winter), while Erinn Hayes is playing Princess Elizabeth, the wife of Ted (Keanu Reeves).
Mays is best known for her role as guidance counsellor Emma Pillsbury in Glee, as well as making guest appearances in the likes of Ugly Betty, How I Met Your Mother and The League. She also starred in Epic Movie, The Smurfs and Paul Blart: Mall Cop.
Hayes was nominated for an Emmy for her role in Adult Swim sitcom Childrens Hospital, and is also known for her work in sitcoms like Guys With Kids, The Winner and Worst Week.
The film is set to revolve around middle-aged best friends Bill and Ted as they set out on a new adventure, with a little help from their daughters, old friends, historical figures and a few music legends.
Their adventure is inspired by a visit from someone from the future that tells them that their song can save a life and bring harmony to the universe.
The film, which will be the third instalment in the Bill & Ted saga, is being directed by Dean Parisot from a screenplay by Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon. Scott Kroopf is production alongside Alex Lebovici and Steve Ponce for Hammerstone Studios, and Steven Soderbergh is serving as an executive producer with John Ryan Jr, Scott Fischer and John Santilli.
