Marilyn Manson joins the cast of Stephen King’s The Stand TV series

Marilyn Manson has joined the cast of CBS All Access limited series The Stand

CBS All Access’ upcoming limited series The Stand has a music legend on board.

In an interview with Revolver, Marilyn Manson confirmed that he is set to appear in the series. The musician also revealed that he has recorded a track for the show, covering ‘The End‘ by The Doors.

The Stand is based on Stephen King’s post-apocalyptic horror/fantasy novel of the same name, and will be made up of 10 one-hour episodes.

The story follows the total breakdown of society following the accidental release of a strain of the influenza virus that had been modified for biological warfare purposes. Once the virus got out, an apocalyptic pandemic occurred and 99 percent of the world’s population was killed.

Westworld and Enchanted‘s James Marsden and Amber Heard are currently in talks to lead the cast as Stu Redman and Nadine Cross respectively, while Whoopi Goldberg, Greg Kinnear, Odessa Young and Henry Zaga’s names have all been thrown around.

Josh Boone (The Fault In Our Stars) is directing the series from scripts by Boone and Ben Cavell. Production will begin in September, with the series expected to hit CBS All Access sometime in 2020.
