Marvel’s Falcon And The Winter Soldier series adds John Wick writer

Disney+ series Falcon And The Winter Soldier has hired John Wick creator Derek Kolstad

It sounds as though Disney+ is going for all-out action with its upcoming Falcon And The Winter Soldier series: according to The Wrap, the show has just hired John Wick creator Derek Kolstad as a writer.

As well as creating the John Wick series, Kolstad also wrote the screenplays for all three films. His other writing work includes The Package, upcoming films Just Cause and Acolyte and in-production TV series Hitman and The Continental.

Falcon And The Winter Soldier is set to see Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan reprise their MCU roles as Sam Wilson/Falcon and Bucky Barnes/the Winter Soldier. Emily VanCamp and Daniel Bruhl are also reportedly in talks to reprise their roles as Sharon Carter and Helmut Zemo respectively.

Though Marvel hasn’t revealed what the show will be about, rumour has it that it is likely to focus on Falcon taking on the Captain America mantle after Steve Rogers gifted him with the shield in Avengers: Endgame.

Kari Skogland is set to direct the six-part mini-series, which is looking like its aiming for an August 2020 premiere date.
