If you really can’t be bothered watching all the videos, reading all the announcements and generally getting caught up on what you might have missed this weekend from Marvel’s Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2019, here’s a super quick breakdown of everything that happened. ENTER, PHASE 4.
The Eternals: Set to hit cinemas on 6 November 2020, and will star Angelina Jolie, Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani, Lauren Ridloff, Brian Tyree Henry, Salma Hayek, Lia McHugh, and Don Lee, and be directed by Chloé Zhao.
The Falcon And The Winter Soldier: The original series is heading to streaming service Disney+ in the autumn of 2020, and will star Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes and Daniel Brühl as Helmut Zemo.
Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings: A feature film based on the superhero Shang-Chi created by Steve Englehart and Jim Starlin. It will star Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, Awkwafina and Tony Leung, and be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton. Set to hit cinemas on 12 February 2021.
WandaVision: The original series starring Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch, Paul Bettany as Vision and Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau. You can watch it on Disney+ in the spring of 2021.
Loki: Tom Hiddleston’s trickster returns in his own Disney+ series, streaming in the spring of 2021.
Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness: The sequel to Doctor Strange, starring Benedict Cumberbatch as Stephen Strange and Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch. Scott Derrickson is directing again, and the film will be in cinemas on 7 May 2021.
What If…?: Marvel Studios’ first animated series in the MCU, starring Jeffrey Wright as the voice of The Watch, with many MCU actors returning to reprise their roles as voice talent. Set to land on Disney+ in the summer of 2021.
Hawkeye: Clint Barton’s solo series that will also introduce Kate Bishop. Jeremy Renner is reprising his role as Hawkeye, and the series will premiere on Disney+ in the autumn of 2021.
Thor: Love And Thunder: The fourth film in the Thor series, which will star Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie (who will also officially be the first LGBTQ+ superhero in the MCU) and Natalie Portman as Dr Jane Foster/Mighty Thor. Taika Waititi is returning to direct, and the film will be in cinemas 5 November 2021.
Black Widow: Scarlett Johansson is reprising her role as Natasha Romanoff in the first Black Widow film alongside David Harbour as Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, O-T Fagbenle as Rich Mason and Rachel Weisz as Melina. Cate Shortland is directing and the film will hit cinemas on 1 May 2020.
Blade: Throwing in a massive curveball, Marvel announced that Blade is officially joining the MCU with Mahershala Ali in the lead role.
To finish things off, Kevin Feige also confirmed the existence of a couple of other project, including Black Panther 2, Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3, Captain Marvel 2, The Fantastic Four and Mutants.
