Blade: Wesley Snipes responds to Mahershala Ali’s casting

Following the news announced at San Diego Comic-Con 2019 that Blade is officially joining the MCU and two-time Academy Award winner Mahershala will be taking on the title role, many fans have been inflicted by a mighty itch to rewatch BladeBlade II and Blade: Trinity.

Original Blade trilogy star Wesley Snipes, who last appeared as the character in 2004, seems just as enthusiastic as the rest of us when it comes to the new casting.

Speaking to EW, he said: “To all the daywalkers losing their minds right now, chillaaxx. Although the news comes as a surprise, it’s ALL GOOD. Such is the ‘business’ of ‘entertainment’!

“Much peace to the MCU crew – always a fan,” he continued. “Honour and respect to the grandmaster Stan. Congratulations and Salaam to Mahershala Ali, a beautiful and talented artist whose expressions I look forward to experiencing for many years to come.

“Inshallah, we will someday work together. Most importantly to my loyal fans, the incredible outpouring of love is overwhelming. I am grateful for the never-ending support. So, ‘nah fret nah worry, it’s not de end of de story’. Welcome to the Daywalker Klique.”

He has spoken. Welcome, Blade.
