Ewan McGregor may reprise his Star Wars role in an Obi-Wan Kenobi live-action series
It sounds as though Ewan McGregor may be gracing our screens as Jedi master Obi-Wan Kenobi once again, if we’re to believe the current reports. According to both Deadline and THR, McGregor is in negotiations to reprise his iconic Star Wars role for a live-action Disney+ series.
The title of the upcoming series is yet to be confirmed, but it would revolve around the character played by McGregor in Star Wars prequel films The Phantom Menace, Attack Of The Clones and Revenge Of The Sith. McGregor also gave his voice to The Force Awakens for Rey’s Force vision.
Not long ago, director Stephen Daldry was supposedly lined up to helm a standalone Obi-Wan film, but plans for that film have slowly morphed into a live-action Disney+ series instead.
When (or should that be if?) the Obi-Wan series finally hits screens, it will be Disney+’s third live-action Star Wars series, after The Mandalorian and the upcoming untitled Cassian Andor series.
