Paul Feig is set to team up with Universal to write and direct a brand new monster movie titled Dark Army, according to Deadline.
The film is reportedly based on an original idea by Feig, but it is not yet known how, or even if, it will tie into Universal’s ongoing Monster universe. What we do know, though, is that Dark Army will feature characters from the studio’s classic monster library as well as original characters created by Feig.
Feig is best known for directing big screen comedies like Bridesmaids, The Heat, Spy, Ghostbusters and A Simple Favour. The filmmaker’s next film is Last Christmas, which will hit cinemas this winter and feature Emilia Clarke, Emma Thompson, Henry Golding and a range of George Michael songs.
Feig has also directed episodes of TV series like Arrested Development, 30 Rock, Parks And Recreation, Mad Men and The Office, and is the creator of 1999 cult series Freaks And Geeks.
