Netflix, which seems to currently be deep down the genre rabbit hole, has just added a whole ensemble cast to one of its most recent ventures, upcoming fantasy series Shadow And Bone.
Based on Leigh Bardugo’s trilogy Shadow And Bone and Six Of Crows novels, the series will be set in the Grishaverse and combine the stories of the characters that reside there.
In a world divided by a barrier of pure darkness, evil creatures hunt and feast on humans on either side. When a soldier discovers a magical power that might be able to unite the two sides, numerous forces start to scheme against her and war begins to brew as she races against time to use her power for good.
Recently added cast members include Ben Barnes (Westworld, The Punisher) as General Kirigan, Freddy Carter (Pennyworth) as Kaz Brekker, Jessie Mei Li (National Theatre Live: All About Eve) as Alina Starkov, Archie Renaux (Hanna, Gold Digger) as Malyen Oretsev, Amita Suman (Doctor Who, The Outpost) as Inej and Kit Young (Endeavour) as Jasper Fahey.
