Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker first look at alien Babu Frik

With just two and a half months until the release of Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker, Lucasfilm has revealed a first look at new character Babu Frik.

Some people are calling him cute. But is he actually cute, or is he just tiny? And is he really an alien or just a naked mole rat wearing a hat? Is he even a boy? All questions will (hopefully) be answered when he hits cinema screens on 19 December. All we know is we’d definitely scream if he crawled out from under the bed.

Babu Frik is being described as a tiny droidsmith who works with the Spice Runners of Kijimi and can reprogram virtually any droid, regardless of its system’s security measures.

Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker stars Daisy Ridley as Rey, Adam Driver as Kylo Ren, John Boyega as Finn, Oscar Isaac as Poe Dameron, Kelly Marie Tran as Rose Tico, Lupita Nyong’o as Maz Kanata, Domhnall Gleeson as General Hux, Mark Hamill as Luke, Billy Dee Williams as Lando, Carrie Fisher as Leia and new cast members Naomi Ackie, Richard E Grant and Keri Russell.

JJ Abrams is directing from a screenplay by Abrams and Chris Terrio.

Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker is in cinemas from 19 December 2019 in the UK. Get all the latest sci-fi news with every issue of SciFiNow.
