Zoe Kravitz has been cast as Catwoman opposite Robert Pattinson in The Batman
In a particularly juicy piece of casting news, The Wrap brings word this week at Matt Reeves’ upcoming film The Batman has cast Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman.
Kravitz is known for her roles in films like X-Men: First Class, The Divergent Series and Mad Max: Fury Road. More recently, she portrayed Leta Lestrange in both Fantastic Beasts films and Bonnie Carlson in hit HBO series Big Little Lies.
The Batman won’t be the first time Kravitz has played Catwoman though: the actress provided the voice of Catwoman/Selina Kyle in 2017 animation The Lego Batman Movie.
Kravitz will be joining Robert Pattinson (Twilight, The Lighthouse) as Bruce Wayne/Batman. Jonah Hill (Superbad, The Wolf Of Wall Street) was recently rumoured to be in talks for the role of villain The Riddler, while Jeffrey Wright (Westworld, Marvel’s What If…?) is believed to be in negotiations for Commissioner Gordon.
The film will be directed by Matt Reeves, who boarded the project following former director/star Ben Affleck stepped away. Reeves is co-writing the screenplay with Mattson Tomlin, and Greig Fraser is serving as cinematographer.
The Batman will be in cinemas from 25 June 2021. Get all the latest sci-fi news with every issue of SciFiNow.
