Paul Dano is officially playing The Riddler in The Batman
After all the talk, Jonah Hill (Superbad) definitely won’t be playing the Riddler in Matt Reeves’ The Batman. Instead, that famous villainous role is going to the brilliant Paul Dano.
Dano will be joining a cast made up of Robert Pattinson (Twilight, The Lighthouse) as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Zoe Kravitz (Big Little Lies) as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, and Jeffrey Wright (Westworld) who is currently in talks to play Commissioner Gordon. Hill was originally attached to the project, but he reportedly left when talks broke down between him and Warner Bros.
Dano is best known for his roles in films like Little Miss Sunshine, Ruby Sparks, 12 Years A Slave, Swiss Army Man and There Will Be Blood.
The film will be directed by Matt Reeves, who boarded the project following former director/star Ben Affleck stepped away. Reeves is co-writing the screenplay with Mattson Tomlin, and Greig Fraser is serving as cinematographer.
The Batman will be in cinemas from 25 June 2021. Get all the latest sci-fi news with every issue of SciFiNow.
