HBO Max’s upcoming sci-fi series Station Eleven is getting its cast together, and has found its first few stars in Mackenzie Davis (Halt And Catch Fire, Terminator: Dark Fate) and Himesh Patel (Yesterday, EastEnders), according to Deadline.
The series, which will be available to stream on WarnerMedia’s upcoming streaming service HBO Max, is based on the 2014 novel of the same name by Emily St. John Mandel.
Set in a post-apocalyptic world and spanning multiple timelines, Station Eleven follows the survivors of a devastating swine flu, nicknamed the ‘Georgia flu’, as they attempt to rebuild the world while holding on to what was lost.
Davis is set to play Kirsten, “a survivor of the Georgia Flu pandemic and performer in a post-apocalyptic Shakespeare troupe.” Patel will play Jeevan, “an unemployed lost soul who must become a leader when the Georgia Flu strikes.”
The series is written and executive produced by Patrick Somerville, who will also serve as showrunner. Hiro Murai (Atlanta, Barry) will direct as well as executive produce alongside Somerville, Scott Steindorff, Scott Delman and Dylan Russell.
