Pennyworth renewed for Season 2 at Epix

Pennyworth is officially getting a Season 2

Things are looking up for Alfred… Following a successful first season, Epix has renewed Batman prequel series Pennyworth for Season 2.

In a statement, Epix president Michael Wright said: “Pennyworth has been a big hit for us, embraced by critics and fans alike. It was the highest-performing original series ever to premiere on Epix, more than doubling the viewership of the shows that came before it. Bruno Heller, Danny Cannon and WBTV have delivered a brilliant, must-watch series. We can’t wait to work with this phenomenal cast and creative team on another exciting season.”

The new season is set to hit TV screens sometime in 2020, and will consist of 10 episodes.

The series was developed by Bruno Heller and Danny Cannon, and stars Jack Bannon as a young Alfred Pennyworth. It follows his life through his 20s, during which the former British SAS soldier starts his own security company and goes to work for young billionaire Thomas Wayne (Ben Aldridge).

The show also stars Ryan Fletcher as Dave Boy, Hainsley Lloyd Bennett as Bazza, Paloma Faith as Bet Sykes, Jason Flemyng as Lord Harwood and Polly Walker as Peggy Sykes.

Pennyworth is available to stream on StarzPlay on Amazon Prime in the UK. Get all the latest sci-fi news with every issue of SciFiNow.
