Arrow Season 8 finale welcomes back Emily Bett Rickards

Good things come to those who wait, as proven by the news that actress Emily Bett Rickards will officially return to Arrow for the series finale.

Rickards will be reprising her role as tech wiz Felicity Smoak, who was last seen in Arrow‘s Season 7 finale. Minus most of the eighth and final season, Rickards has been a large part of the show from the start, and has also appeared in crossover episodes of The CW’s The Flash and Legends Of Tomorrow.

Series star Stephen Amell, who plays Oliver Queen AKA Green Arrow, confirmed the news on Twitter this week.

As positive representation of women in STEM, Felicity Smoak has often been described as a ‘fan favourite’ and ‘breakout’ character, with both the character and Rickards herself receiving glowing praise from critics and fans alike.

Arrow Season 8 also stars Stephen Amell, David Ramsey, Rick Gonzalez, Juliana Harkavy, Katherine McNamara, Ben Lewis, Joseph David-Jones, LaMonica Garrett and Katie Cassidy.

Marc Guggenheim and Beth Schwartz serve as the season’s showrunners. Guggenheim, Greg Berlanti, Wendy Mericle and Sarah Schechter executive produce the series, and the show is produced by Bonanza Productions Inc in association with Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros Television.

Arrow Season 8 is currently airing on Wednesdays at 8pm on Sky One. Get all the latest superhero news with every issue of SciFiNow.
