Netflix’s The Witcher renewed for Season 2 already


Netflix clearly has a lot of faith in its TV adaptation of The Witcher: the streamer has renewed the fantasy series ahead of its Season 1 premiere.

In a statement, showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich said: “I am so excited that before viewers dive into season one, we are already able to confirm that we’ll be returning to The Continent again to continue telling the stories of Geralt, Yennefer and Ciri, and to showcase more of the amazing work that our cast and crew have delivered.”

Returning cast members include Henry Cavill (Man Of Steel) as Geralt of Rivia, Anya Chalotra (Wanderlust) as Yennefer, and Freya Allan (Into The Badlands) as Ciri.

Executive Producers for Season 2 will be Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, Tomek Baginski, Jason F. Brown, Sean Daniel, Mike Ostrowski, Steve Gaub and Jarosław Sawko. Directors and additional cast information is yet to be announced. Season 2 will feature eight episodes.

Based on the best-selling fantasy series of books, THE WITCHER is an epic tale of fate and family. The story of the intertwined destinies of three individuals in the vast world of The Continent, where humans, elves, witchers, gnomes, and monsters battle to survive and thrive, and where good and evil is not easily identified.
