Elizabeth Banks has teamed up with Universal for sci-fi Invisible Woman
Elizabeth Banks is teaming up with Universal Pictures again to star in a new film entitled Invisible Woman, according to Deadline.
The news comes just months ahead of the premiere of Universal’s The Invisible Man, starring Elisabeth Moss (The Handmaid’s Tale) and Oliver Jackson-Cohen (The Haunting Of Hill House) and based on HG Wells’ sci-fi novel of the same name.
Invisible Woman was born from an original pitch from Banks, who will both direct and star in the film. The Girl On The Train‘s Erin Cressida Wilson wrote the current draft of the script.
Banks is also set to produce alongside Max Handelman, via the pair’s Brownstone Productions. The banner also produced the Pitch Perfect series (the second film of which was directed by Banks) and the Charlie’s Angel reboot which is set to hit cinemas on Friday.
As an actress, Banks is best known for playing Effie Trinket in The Hunger Games film series and Gail Abernathy-McKadden in the Pitch Perfect series. She has also appeared in projects like Wet Hot American Summer, Role Models, The LEGO Movie, The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Brightburn and more.
The Invisible Man is a sci-fi psychological horror film written and directed by Leigh Whannell and produced by Jason Blum and Kylie du Fresneis. It is set to hit cinemas on 28 February 2020.
