Star Trek: Picard renewed for Season 2


CBS can’t get enough of its Star Trek projects. Ahead of the premiere of Star Trek: Picard in January next year, the show has already been renewed for Season 2, according to Deadline.

The first season of Picard will available to stream on CBS All Access in the US on 23 January 2020, and on Amazon Prime Video in 200 other countries and territories (including the UK) on 24 January.

The second season of the show will consist of 10-episodes, and will reportedly have a budget of more than $20.4 million.

In Star Trek: Picard, Sir Patrick Stewart returns as Next Generation captain Jean-Luc Picard. The series also stars Santiago Cabrera, Michelle Hurd, Isa Briones, Alison Pill, Harry Treadaway and Evan Evagora.

Star Trek stars Jeri Ryan (Seven of Nine), Brent Spiner (Data), Jonathan Del Arco (Hugh), Jonathan Frakes (William Riker) and Marina Sirtis (Deanna Troi) will also be making guest appearances in the series.

CBS Television Studios is producing the series in association with Secret Hideout and Roddenberry Entertainment. Alex Kurtzman, Michael Chabon, Akiva Goldsman, James Duff, Patrick Stewart, Heather Kadin, Rod Roddenberry, and Trevor Roth are all serving as executive producers.
