Van Helsing renewed for fifth and final season

There’s good news and bad news. The good news is that cult vampire series Van Helsing has been renewed for Season 5. The bad news is the season will be the last one.

According to THR, the final season of the show will consist of 13 episodes, and is set to premiere some time in 2020. Production will begin early next year.

Van Helsing is produced in Canada by Echo Lake Entertainment, Dynamic Television and Nomadic Pictures, and Super Écran distributes it in Quebec. Syfy owns the US rights to the series, and Netflix pays to distribute it globally.

In a statement, Van Helsing‘s executive producer Chad Oakes said: “We are thrilled to be able to bring the amazing Van Helsing saga to a close. This could not have been done without the support of our incredible cast, crew, Syfy, Netflix and Super Ecran.”

“We are so proud of Van Helsing and would like to thank Syfy and the amazing fans who embraced this series,” said Dynamic Television managing partner Daniel March. “We are excited to end the show on its own terms and to give our story, these characters, and our fans the conclusion they so richly deserve.”

The series stars Kelly Overton, Jonathan Scarfe, Tricia Helfer, Nicole Munoz, Keeya King, Neal McDonough, Vincent Gale, Rukiya Bernard and Aleks Paunovic. Jonathan Lloyd Walker serves as showrunner.
