What We Do In The Shadows creator Jemaine Clement has revealed that Mark Hamill is joining the show for Season 2. TheWrap reported the news following last week’s TCA press tour.
Hamill will be taking on a guest-starring role for the second season of the FX vampire show, but character details are currently being kept under wraps.
As well as fronting the Star Wars franchise since the 70s as Jedi Luke Skywalker, Hamill is also well-known for his voice work, which has included playing the Joker in Batman: The Animated Series, Megatronus in Transformers: Power Of The Primes, Dictatious in Trollhunter: Tales Of Arcadia and the Scientist in The Dark Crystal: Age Of Resistance.
Written by Clement (Flight Of The Conchords) and Taika Waititi (Jojo Rabbit), What We Do In The Shadows is based on the 2014 mockumentary film of the same name. It follows a group of vampire flatmates living in an old house in Staten Island, and the mischief they get up to.
The series stars Matt Berry as Laszlo Cravensworth, Kayvan Novak as Nandor the Relentless, Natasia Demetriou as Nadja, Harvey Guillén as Guillermo and Mark Proksch as Colin Robinson.
Guest stars have included the likes of Dave Bautista, Evan Rachel Wood, Danny Trejo, Paul Rubens, Tilda Swinton and Wesley Snipes. Following in the footsteps of previous guest stars, we expect Hamill to play a vampire role on the show.
