Superman & Lois greenlit for full series by The CW

Superman and Lois Lane’s appearances in the Arrowverse crossover event Crisis On Infinite Earths clearly went down a storm: Superman & Lois has officially been picked up for a full series.

The show will star Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch, reprising their Arrowverse roles as the title characters. According to THRSuperman & Lois will follow “the iconic characters as they deal with stress, pressures and complexities that come with being working parents in today’s society.”

The series is being written by former The Flash showrunner Todd Helbing, who stepped down from his post on the show last season to focus on developing Superman & Lois as part of his overall deal with Warner Bros TV.

Greg Berlanti Productions is producing the series, with Sarah Schechter and Geoff Johns also serving as executive producers.

Alongside Superman & Lois, The CW also handed a straight-to-series order to Walker, a Walker, Texas Ranger reimagining starring Supernatural frontman Jared Padalecki.

The series will follow “Cordell Walker, a widower and father of two with his own moral code, who returns to Austin after being undercover for two years, only to discover there’s harder work to be done at home. He will attempt to reconnect with his children, navigate clashes with his family and find unexpected common ground with his new partner (one of the first women in Texas Rangers’ history), while growing increasingly suspicious about the circumstances surrounding his wife’s death.”

Both shows are expected to premiere during the 2020/2021 season.
