Fans of the Netflix sci-fi series can expect new episodes to land on 27 February 2020.
Altered Carbon takes place in the future (in the year 2384 to be exact) in a futuristic metropolis known as Bay City. In the future, a person’s memories and consciousness can be decanted into a device known as a cortical stack, which is implanted in the neck of a synthetic host.
The series follows Takeshi Kovacs, a political operative with mercenary skills, through his trials and tribulations. The sole surviving soldier of a rebel group defeated in a deadly uprising, his stack is pulled out of prison by someone with invested interest in his survival and is given another shot at life. But his newfound freedom comes with a catch: he must solve the murder of his benefactor.
Altered Carbon was created by Laeta Kalogridis and is based on the 2002 novel of the same time by Richard K Morgan.
Season 2 will star Anthony Mackie, replacing Joel Kinnaman as Takeshi Kovacs. It will also feature Chris Conner, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Simone Missick, Dina Shihabi, Torben Liebrecht, James Saito and Lela Loren.
