It’s that time of year when the BBC goes mad releasing all the premiere dates for its upcoming projects (AKA the holiday season). The latest show to get the treatment is Dracula, which is set to air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on 1 January 2020.
The broadcaster announced the news in this vaguely creepy tweet:
Your New Year is gonna suck but never fear… #Dracula, a three day reign of terror, starts 1st January on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. pic.twitter.com/SNuSUjQoEO

Here’s the official synopsis for the show:
Three feature length episodes will re-introduce the world to Dracula, the vampire who made evil sexy. In Transylvania in 1897, the blood-drinking Count is drawing his plans against Victorian London. And be warned: the dead travel fast.
The miniseries, which will be made up of three episodes, stars Claes Bang, Jonathan Aris, Morfydd Clark, Sacha Dhawan, Mark Gatiss, John Heffernan, Tim Ingall, Youssef Kerkour, Lujza Richter, Clive Russell, Joanna Scanlan, Catherine Schell and Nathan Stewart-Jarrett.
Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss created the series and wrote all three episodes. Jonny Campbell, Paul McGuigan and Damon Thomas are directing one each.
