Jordan Peele is rebooting The Twilight Zone

We’re huge fans of Jordan Peele, from his comedy work on Key And Peele and Keanu to his incredible directorial debut horror Get Out, so we’re very excited to hear that he’s working on a new version of The Twilight Zone.

THR reports that Peele and CBS All Access are “readying a new take on the iconic sci-fi anthology” but it’s not clear how far along the process is. We could be talking “throwing ideas around” or “actively developing like, right now.” What they do mention is that Daredevil‘s Marco Ramirez is also working on the project and would serve as writer and showrunner.

Rod Serling’s landmark series originally ran from 1959 to 1964, and there have been various revivals and reboots since, not to mention a movie. But with the success of shows like Black Mirror, Philip K Dick’s Electric Dreams and Room 104, it’s obviously a good time to bring it back from a network’s point of view. It also feels like the perfect time for a new batch of social commentary-driven, unsettling SF stories, and on the basis of Get Out, Peele is absolutely the perfect choice for this.

CBS All Access is the home of Star Trek Discovery, which is nearing the end of the excellent first part of its first season.
