Pet Sematary remake gets a release date, may finally happen this time

The long, long-in development Pet Sematary remake has taken another step out of the sour ground towards the cinema.

THR reports that the new take on Stephen King’s chilling novel about a father who discovers the blessing and curse (mostly curse) of being able to bring the dead back to life has been set for release on 19 April 2019.

The new Pet Sematary will be directed by Starry Eyes duo Dennis Widmyer and Kevin Kolsch, and written by Jeff Buhler (Midnight Meat Train). The original 1989 film was written by King and directed by Mary Harron, with a wonderful performance from Fred Gwynne as Jud Crandall. Hopefully it won’t be too long before we hear about casting. Just saying, Mark Duplass would be an awesome Louis Creed…
