Good news from CBS, as it’s been announced that the deals have been made for Jordan Peele’s new take on The Twilight Zone at CBS All Access, where it joins Star Trek: Discovery.
Deadline reports that Peele, Marco Ramirez (Daredevil) and Simon Kinberg (the X-Men movies) have signed on to executive produce the series and collaborate on the first episode. There’s currently no word on how many episodes we’ll be looking at.
Peele stated that “Too many times this year it’s felt we were living in a twilight zone, and I can’t think of a better moment to reintroduce it to modern audiences.” “The Twilight Zone was a touchstone in my life. The opportunity to continue its lineage is a dream come true, and I’m so thrilled to be doing it with Jordan, Marco and the team at CBS All Access,” added Kinberg.
It certainly seems fitting that the man who delivered Get Out would be very interested in working within the framework of The Twilight Zone, which at its best blended social commentary with chilling doom-laden twists. The format has certainly enjoyed a healthy revival recently, as seen in Charlie Brooker’s Black Mirror and the Duplass brothers’ Room 104.
Obviously we’ll be very interested to see who hosts…
