Hannibal. Then Scream. Then The Exorcist… Now, Child’s Play is the latest cult horror property to make its way from the cinema to TV screens.
In an interview with Bloody Disgusting, Child’s Play director Don Mancini revealed that he’s currently working on a TV version of the franchise with producer David Kirschner.
It sounds as though this has been on the cards for a while, with Mancini (Seed Of Chucky, Cult Of Chucky) saying the series “was deliberately set up at the end of the last movie.”
The series is set to consist of eight parts, but it’s not a reboot: instead, it will be a continuation of Chucky’s story that was started in the films, and the tone will be “dark and disturbing.”
The untitled Child’s Play TV series does not yet have an air date. Get all the latest horror news with every issue of SciFiNow.
